Utrecht - Dutch Railway Museum In the museum 'experience' is central. You can not just look at the beautiful, historic trains, there is plenty to do and experience. The different 'worlds' of the museum tell the story of nearly 175 years of railways in the Netherlands. Boring? Not at all! The "worlds" of the Railway in 'The Great Discovery' go back in time and end up in an old coal mine. You hear the story of the invention of the steam engine and meet the Eagle, the first train that ran in The Netherlands. In "Dream Travel" the actors of the museum will take you on a journey with the upscale Orient Express. And the 'Steel Monsters' you make a thrilling ride through life-size locomotives.
