Australia, Goolwa - Goolwa Wharf
This webcam is a Mobotix Webcam and is mounted on the Signal Point building within the Goolwa Wharf Precinct in Goolwa, South Australia. The historic River Port town of Goolwa (approximately 85kms south of Adelaide) is situated on both fresh and salt water and is the last town on the Murray River where the river meets the sea. The webcam captures a view of the Goolwa Wharf and includes the Murray River, Hindmarsh Island Bridge, Café, boarding station for Coorong Cruises and the Paddle Steamer Oscar W which is moored adjacent to the Goolwa Riverboat Centre. In the foreground, a tourist train operates on Australia's first railway line (diesel & steam engines) every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday each week and everyday during South Australian school holidays. The Goolwa Wharf Precinct is also home to the internationally acclaimed biennial South Australian Wooden Boat Festival. The Goolwa Markets are held on the first and third Sunday of the month and Signal Point Gallery is open daily. There are cellar doors, cafes, brewery, craft shop, and the railway station in the Precinct with the local visitor information centre, Goolwa Township, shops and accommodation within easy walking distance. Goolwa is also Australia's first accredited Cittaslow town, renowned for its regional foods, wine and beer lifestyle and hospitality.
