Spartanburg, SC - The Hub City Railroad Museum occupies a portion of the former Southern Railway depot. A portion of the building also houses the Amtrak waiting room. The name ‘Hub City’ was given to Spartanburg as its seven railroad lines of four railroads resembled a hub on a wheel. Track one is nearest the building. Track two is the next one over. Double track extends from Beaumont (out of view to the north) to Lyman (to the south) Today the Hub City sees at least 20 trains per day. This is a Norfolk Southern line, Coastal Division, Charlotte District. Several locals working the mainline and the W line can be seen. Amtrak Crescent trains 19 and 20 serve Spartanburg. Milepost is 452.45.
