The Portland & Western Railroad (PNWR) is a 520-mile short line freight railroad that interchanges with the Albany & Eastern Railroad, BNSF Railway, Central Oregon & Pacific Railroad, Coos Bay Rail Link, Hampton Railway, Port of Tillamook Bay Railroad and Union Pacific Railroad.
Commodities transported include aggregates, brick and cement, chemicals, construction and demolition debris, food and feed products, forest products, metallic ores and minerals, petroleum products, and steel and scrap.

The Providence and Worcester Railroad Company is a short-line freight railroad operating in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut and New York.
The Company transports a wide variety of commodities for its approximately 140 customers, including automobiles, construction aggregates, iron and steel products, chemicals and plastics (including ethanol), lumber, scrap metals, plastic resins, cement, coal, construction and demolition debris, and processed foods and edible foodstuffs, such as corn syrup and vegetable oils.

The Reading Blue Mountain and Northern Railroad, with its corporate headquarters in Port Clinton, is a privately held railroad company serving major businesses in nine Eastern Pennsylvania counties, (Berks, Bradford, Carbon, Columbia, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Northumberland, Schuylkill and Wyoming). The railroad runs about 320 miles from Reading PA to Mehoopany PA and it also operates the 7 mile rail line from Towanda to Monroeton in Bradford County. We offer both freight services and passenger excursion operations and we currently employ over 150 employees.

Cherryvale, KS Central Region The South Kansas & Oklahoma Railroad is administered from Watco's historical depot in Cherryvale, Kansas. Operating on more than 404 miles and carrying more than 50,000 loaded railcars, the SKOL serves a diverse customer base. More than 30 locomotives and up to 10 train crews (assembling and hauling) are in operation at any time, making the SKOL one of the busiest short line operations in the industry. Our diverse commodity base is comprised of grain and grain products, cement, coal, chemicals, steel and plastics. Three-dimensional shippers are also located on the SKOL.

The Texas Northeastern Railroad (TNER) operates west from Bonham through Bells to Sherman, TX and east from New Boston to Texarkana, TX. The interchange points for the TNER are at Texarkana and Denison Texas and operate as a handling carrier for Class I carriers. Partnerships with the UP, BNSF and KCS provide the TNER with an extension of its reach throughout North America for the customers that are served. The TNER serves The Red River Army Depot at Defense, TX located just west of Texarkana, TX.

Texas Pacifico Transportation Ltd. (TXPF)
Texas Pacifico Transportation Ltd. (reporting mark TXPF) is a railroad operating company in West Texas that is owned by Grupo México.[4] The company operates over the South Orient Rail Line under a lease and operating agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation and Texas Pacifico Transportation, Ltd. The South Orient Rail Line runs from the Mexican border town of Presidio, Texas to San Angelo Junction.[5] It was constructed to interchange with Ferromex at Presidio but the Presidio–Ojinaga International Rail Bridge has not been operational since a fire damaged it on 29 February 2008.[6] It interchanges with Union Pacific Railroad at Alpine, Texas, and with BNSF Railway and the Fort Worth and Western Railroad at San Angelo Junction. The Texas Pacifico company began service in March 2001.

The Utah Railway (UTAH) is a 47-mile short line freight railroad that interchanges with BNSF Railway and Union Pacific Railroad.
Primarily a coal-hauling railroad, other commodities transported include aggregates, brick and cement, building materials, chemicals, coal and petroleum products.
The UTAH was acquired by Genesee & Wyoming in 2002.
