Iowa Association of Railroad Passengers, Inc. (IARP)
The Iowa Association of Railroad Passengers, Inc. (IARP) is a non-profit citizens organization advocating railroad transportation. It was formed in 1981 to strengthen the voice of the rail user in Iowa.
IARP believes that rail service - both freight and passenger - is an essential part of a balanced, effective transportation system, as well as a sound economy. IARP does not suggest the clock be turned back to some mythical "good old days". Rather, we recognize the advantage of all forms of transportation for a modern, mobile society

Midwest High Speed Rail Coalition
The Midwest High Speed Rail Association is one of the nation's leading advocacy organizations in the effort to bring high-speed rail to the United States. With thousands of members throughout the Midwest, we educate people, businesses and lawmakers about the need for fast, frequent and reliable trains that link Midwestern economies and communities. Since 1993, we've worked with local governments, federal officials, the railroad industry and fellow advocacy groups to cultivate the political will and public support needed to build the Midwest's high-speed network.
Over the last 25 years, the Midwest High Speed Rail Association has spearheaded nearly $1 billion in legislative victories advancing passenger rail, motivated tens of thousands of advocates to take action, established relationships with industry and government experts, and conducted extensive research into passenger rail policy.
The Midwest High Speed Rail Association is a people-powered 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

National Corridors Initiative
The National Corridors Initiative exists to further the rapid development of practical, attainable High-Speed Rail transportation.
Our initial efforts have involved the successful [thus far] securing of funds to permit modernization of the Northeast Corridor;
we plan to continue these efforts, and to create similar Initiatives or help to sustain those that already exist, in other Corridors in
the United States and Canada, which would lend themselves to modernization / electrification using the National Corridors
Initiative as the vehicle to do so.

Northern New England Passenger Rail Authority | The Downeaster
The initiative to establish the passenger rail transportation travel alternative has been a work in progress for well over ten years. For many, its implementation began on July 14, 1989 when the Maine State Legislature enacted the "Passenger Rail Service Act" directing the Maine Department of Transportation to take all actions necessary to establish regularly scheduled passenger rail service within and outside the State of Maine. The Act further directed that the expenditure of funds to carry out this mandate would be spent first to restore passenger rail service between Portland, Maine and Boston, Massachusetts.
