Russell Shaw's Photo Gallery
I've been a professional journalist for more than 25 years, capturing the simplicities and intricacies of both human nature and our natural surroundings with various combinations of our language's 21 consonants and five vowels. Although I'm not a professional photographer, I have been privileged to work with many. The best
are able to capture given moments in time -- an expression on someone's face, the angle of a waterfall as it spills to the rocks below, the passing glint of a red sunset. Driven by curiosity more than any sort of directional change in the way I elucidate information, this page represents my attempt to visually chronicle the world around me.

Sharpo's World
Most of the photos have been taken during the last few years but some date back to the 1960's. The main subject is steam
locomotives, from miniature to full-size. Other steam-powered vehicles are featured, such as traction engines, steam rollers
etc. At present the only foreign steam is from Portugal, but I have other photos from Spain, Italy and Germany which I
hope to add as time permits. Most of the tram photos were taken at Crich but two visits to the Isle of Man should provide
more variety.

SteamPhotos.com
Ed Pick
Welcome to SteamPhotos.com!
Steam Railroad Photography by Christopher Muller.
Although steam locomotives all but disappeared from regular service on North American railroads by 1960, there are approximately 300 operational steam engines in the U.S. today. Some operate daily at tourist railroads and theme parks. Others make less frequent appearances for private charters, holiday trains, community festivals, and corporate events.
A lifelong train enthusiast, my interest in railroad photography began in 2005. Today, I photograph unique railroad events and historic sites, documenting my travels here at SteamPhotos.com. Whether you're an historian, photographer, railfan, or travel enthusiast, I hope you enjoy the scenic beauty and historical significance of steam railroading as portrayed in these photos.
I offer a range of prints and calendars for purchase through this site. Profits are donated to organizations committed to historic railroad preservation including those listed below. High-resolution digital photos are also available for license. Please see the Prints & Gifts Page for details. A number of my photos presented here have appeared in books, magazines, newsletters, calendars, maps, timetables, advertising, video games, and murals.
