The Signal Box: Home Signal
This web site is the first to have been developed on the specific subject of British railway signalling practice. The emphasis is on the older, mechanical signalling - that worked by mechanical levers and with signals that go up and down. More recently, historic material on overseas locations has been added.

Wayside Inspection Devices
The Wayside Inspection Devices Angle of Attack Inspection Station is a powerful new tool
enabling railroads worldwide to reduce their operating costs by monitoring bogies for correct
alignment. The Angle of Attack Inspection Station developed by Wayside Inspection Devices, scans passing
trains to determine both the angle of attack and tracking position of each wheelset. It unambiguously
identifies bogies exhibiting one or both of these defects, and quantifies accurately the magnitude of
deviations beyond acceptable tolerances.
