Calgary, Alberta - Train is a light rail transit system in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It began operation on May 25, 1981 and has expanded as the city has increased in population. The system is operated by Calgary Transit, as part of the Calgary municipal government's transportation department. As of 2017, it is one of the busiest light rail transit systems in North America, with 306,900 weekday riders, and has been growing steadily in recent years. About 45% of workers in downtown Calgary take the CTrain to work.

Edmonton, AB - Edmonton Light Rail Transit
Edmonton, Alberta - Edmonton Light Rail Transit, commonly referred to as the LRT, is a light rail system in Edmonton, Alberta. Part of the Edmonton Transit Service (ETS), the system has 18 stations on two lines and 24.3 km (15.1 mi) of track. As of 2016, it is one of the busiest light rail transit systems in North America, with over 112,000 daily weekday riders, and has been growing steadily in recent years.

ETS started operation of the original LRT line in 1978, expanded by 2010 into the Capital Line, running between Clareview in Edmonton's northeast and Century Park in Edmonton's south end. The first phase of the newer Metro Line started service between the University of Alberta campus and hospital in Edmonton's southcentral and the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology northwest of downtown Edmonton in 2015, with further expansion to north Edmonton and neighbouring city of St. Albert planned into the future. The first phase of the 27 kilometres (17 mi) Valley Line, from downtown Edmonton to Mill Woods in southeast Edmonton, began construction in spring 2016, with future plans to extend into west Edmonton.

Ottawa, ON - The O-Train
Ottawa, Ontario - The O-Train is a light rail transit system in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada operated by OC Transpo. It currently has one line in operation, the diesel-powered Trillium Line, with a second line, the electrically-operated Confederation Line, under construction and set to open in late 2018.

Ottawa's five O-Train stations are fully integrated with OC Transpo's bus service, creating seamless travel between rail and regular commuter systems. O-Train tickets are sold at O-Train stations on the platform and can be exchanged for a transfer when you board a bus. Proof of payment is interchangeable: moving from train to bus, and vice versa, is simple and hassle-free.

Toronto, ON - Union Pearson Express
Toronto, Ontario - The Union Pearson Express (UP Express) is an airport rail link running between Union Station in Downtown Toronto and Toronto Pearson International Airport. The UP Express began operation on June 6, 2015, in time for the 2015 Pan American Games. The UP Express travels between Union and Pearson in 25 minutes departing every 15 minutes, seven days a week. At the launch announcement, it was stated that UP is projected to carry 2.35 million passengers annually, and eliminate approximately 1.2 million car trips in the first year.

Vancouver, BC - Vancouver Skytrain
Vancouver, British Columbia - SkyTrain is the oldest and one of the longest automated driverless light rapid transit systems in the world. The Expo and Millennium SkyTrain Lines connect downtown Vancouver with the cities of Burnaby, New Westminster and Surrey. The Canada Line connects downtown Vancouver to the Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and the city of Richmond.

There are three integrated lines:
The Expo Lines connects Vancouver with the cities of Burnaby, New Westminster, and Surrey.
With the addition of the new Evergreen Extension, the Millennium travels from Vancouver through Burnaby into Port Moody and Coquitlam.
The Canada Line connects downtown Vancouver to the Vancouver International Airport (YVR), and the City of Richmond.

Waterloo, ON - Ion rapid transit
Waterloo, Ontario - The Region of Waterloo rapid transit system will connect the three major urban centres of the Cities of Cambridge, Kitchener and Waterloo.

Stage 1 of the rapid transit system consists of:
Light rail transit (LRT) between Conestoga Mall in the City of Waterloo and Fairview Park Mall in the City of Kitchener (19 km),
Bus rapid transit (BRT) between Fairview Park Mall in the City of Kitchener and the Ainslie Street Terminal in the City of Cambridge (17 km),
and 22 stops along the 36 km transit corridor.
