New York - Wallkill Valley Rail Trail
The Wallkill Valley Rail Trail is a multi-use, naturally surfaced trail, welcoming hikers, joggers, bicycle and horseback riders, dog walkers, and, in the winter, snowshoers and cross-country skiers. One of America's ten most iconic rail trails, its 22 miles offers unsurpassed vistas, quiet arbors, ever-chilly caverns and a variety bridges. Spanning rivers and gorges, its bridges enable visitors and daily users to connect with nature, new friends, with our shared history and with a more sustainable future.
The crown jewel of this 22-mile linear park is the famed Rosendale Trestle, with its 940 foot span over the Rondout Creek and soaring 150 feet above the water's surface. When first constructed in 1872 it was dubbed the iron wonder and was the highest span bridge in the United States. Often referred to as the Walkway over the Rondout, the trestle offers more intimate views than the Wallkway Over The Hudson, yet no less spectacular views of Joppenburgh Mountain, Main Street Rosendale and the Rondout Creek.

Ohio - Huron River Greenway
The Huron River Greenway is a project undertaken by the Erie
(County) MetroParks as a linear park whose main feature is a
multi-purpose trail constructed primarily on abandoned railroad
right-of-way along the Huron River and the historic Milan Canal.
The Huron River Greenway MetroPark Trail has two separate segments, each just under 1 mile long. The northern (Huron) segment runs from DuPont Marsh State Nature Preserve off River Road and heads south about 0.9 mile, ending at a gate on River View Drive in Franklin Flats. The other side of the gate is private property, so do not trespass.
The southern (Milan) segment runs from the end of N. Main Street and heads north 0.9 mile to end at a barricade across the trail. Again, the other side of the barricade marks private property.

Fulton, Henry, Lucas, and Williams. So it should come as no surprise that the Trail is owned by several partners. With the
Toledo Metropolitan Area Council of Governments (TMACOG) acting as coordinating partner for the project, the
land-owning partners are Lucas County, the city of Maumee, Northwestern Ohio Rails-to-Trails Association, Inc. (NORTA,
Inc.), the Metropark District of the Toledo Area, the city of Wauseon, and the village of Whitehouse.
