Alabama - Foley Depot Museum
Foley, AL - Located in the old L & N Railroad Depot is Foley's Museum Archives. The first depot was built in 1905 when Mr. John B. Foley of Chicago used some of his own money to bring the railroad to the southern part of Baldwin County. This first depot burned to the ground, and a second station took its place in 1908. The railroad line was a spur from Bay Minette and ended approximately a mile south of Foley. At that end, there was a wye when the train could turn around.

Alabama - Fort Payne Depot Museum
Fort Payne, AL - Fort Payne Depot Museum, presented by Landmarks of Dekalb County. Located in Northeast Alabama, our musuem, which is actually a train depot circa late 1800s, contains much more than railroad historical artifacts. Thanks to many donations from estates and businesses, we have artifacts from every war since the Civil War, items from the formation of our city, thousands of Indian artifacts (like arrowheads, baskets, and sculptures), and much more. Listed with the National Register of Historic Places, we are a popular tourist spot just minutes from heavily-visited Mentone and not much farther from cities like Birmingham, Chattanooga, and Atlanta

Alabama - North Alabama Railroad Museum, Huntsville, Alabama
Huntsville, AL - At the North Alabama Railroad Museum, located in Chase, Alabama, just east of Huntsville, you will find a facility reflecting a love of trains and a desire to preserve railroad history.

The centerpiece of the museum features the Chase depot, the smallest union depot in the country since it served more than one railroad when in service. If you visit the museum on a day when the train is running, you can ride a vintage train over the museum's own Mercury & Chase Railroad. All aboard !

Over thirty pieces of major rolling stock have been preserved including both freight and passenger equipment and three historic locomotives. Plans for future development are being made and when completed the museum is sure to be a facility that is both unique and attractive while maintaining a character all its own. Also, at the North Alabama Railroad Museum, you will find a group of dedicated volunteers who are willing to work long hours doing grueling work in all weather extremes in order to accomplish the things that make our museum attractive and functional.

Alaska - White Pass & Yukon Route Scenic Railway
Skagway, AK - White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad offers scenic train excursions from Skagway, Alaska or Fraser B.C. or Carcross, Yukon. It is Alaska's most popular shore excursion. Against all odds, this iron trail was born of the 1898 Klondike Gold Rush and built through some of the North's most ruggedly beautiful terrain. Today, it's a comfortable ride in refurbished train cars following the original route of the hopeful stampeders of 1898.
