The Downtown KC Streetcar starter line has been envisioned as a beginning to the development of a comprehensive streetcar system for the Kansas City Region. The KC Streetcar runs through the heart of downtown and connects to Ride KC buses at either end of the route and at the 10th & Main Transit Center.

The Downtown KC Streetcar starter line is the first step in a longer-range plan to create a regional, integrated transit system to uniquely connect the Greater Kansas City area like never before. Progressive regions with streetcar systems have seen significant economic growth and the Downtown KC Streetcar starter line is a step in effort to realize an even more vibrant, vital and livable urban center. Streetcar systems attract new residents, businesses and workforce and provide an improved and more efficient travel option. It is envisioned that the downtown KC Streetcar starter line will bring new investment and increased property values to downtown along with an increased economic impact during construction and after.

Kenosha, WI - The Kenosha Streetcar Society is a non-profit organization chartered by the City of Kenosha, Wisconsin to preserve and promote Kenosha's streetcar system and history.

The KSS hosts several slide shows or movies each year. The presentations are all related to transportation history, and are free. The KSS also hosts an annual member appreciation dinner each spring, as well as other special events throughout the year. See our Events page for more information!

Little Rock, AR - METRO Streetcar is a 3.4-mile streetcar system connecting the cities of Little Rock and North Little Rock. With 10 operators manning three historic replica streetcars along the route, the system serves 100,000 riders annually and covers 1,080 miles weekly. METRO Streetcar is a fun, unique way to take in the downtown sights of central Arkansas' twin cities. Spanning the beautiful Arkansas River, the system links some of the most vibrant destinations in Pulaski County, including the Clinton Presidential Center and headquarters of the global nonprofit Heifer International; North Little Rock's historic Argenta district; the Little Rock River Market and Creative Corridor; and favorite restaurants, hotels, brewpubs, cultural attractions, shops and more.

Memphis, TN - MATA Trolley
The MATA Trolley is a heritage streetcar transit system operating in Memphis in the U.S. state of Tennessee. It began operating on April 29, 1993.

Since opening the system has been extended twice and now consists of three lines, operated by the Memphis Area Transit Authority (MATA). These lines are the Main Street Line, the Riverfront Loop and the Madison Avenue Line.

Miami, FL - Metrorail
Miami, FL - The Metrorail system is a 25-mile dual track, elevated rapid transit system that provides service to Miami International Airport (MIA) and runs from Kendall through South Miami, Coral Gables, and downtown Miami; to the Civic Center/Jackson Memorial Hospital area; and to Brownsville, Liberty City, Hialeah, and Medley in northwest Miami-Dade, with connections to Broward and Palm Beach counties at the Tri-Rail/Metrorail transfer station. The system currently uses 136 train cars.

The 23 accessible Metrorail stations are about one mile apart, providing easy access for bus riders, pedestrians, and passengers who are dropped off and picked up.

Minneapolis and Saint Paul, MN - Metro
Minneapolis and Saint Paul, MN - the METRO system is a network of transitways with frequent, all-day service between stations with enhanced amenities. Some METRO lines use trains, others use buses. Whether it runs on a road or on tracks, customers can expect trips at least every 15 minutes throughout most of the day.

METRO lines are named by color rather than by numbers. Three METRO lines already exist. The Blue Line travels between Mall of America and Target Field. The Red Line travels on Cedar Avenue, providing Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) between Apple Valley and Mall of America. The METRO Green Line opened in June 2014, between downtown Minneapolis and downtown St. Paul.

The MTA network includes the nation's largest bus fleet and more subway and commuter rail cars than all other U.S. transit systems combined. MTA Bridges and Tunnels, which saw a record 310 million crossings in 2017, carries more vehicles than any other bridge and tunnel authority in the nation.
