Indiana - Whitewater Valley Railroad
South Connersville, IN - The Whitewater Valley Railroad is proud to announce Throttle Time. The general public will be offered a chance to operate one of many historic diesel-electric locomotives on the Whitewater Valley Railroad main line as a guest engineer.

Each guest engineer will participate in a brief operational training session before sitting at the throttle for 30 minutes of actual hands-on locomotive operations. The locomotive will operate "light", without attached train cars. Operation will begin with a walk-around inspection and orientation to the locomotive, followed by basic instruction on safety, operation, starting and stopping. The instructor will then take the locomotive to an appropriate location along the track where the guest engineer will take over the locomotive's controls.

Switzerland - Rhätische Bahn Footplate Rides
Footplate rides Riding up-front
It's what every railway enthusiast dreams of: Journey beside the driver in the cab of an RhB locomotive through the Albula Valley or along the Bernina Line, the highest railway line in the Alps. Not only do you have a front-row seat there's also a certificate and snapshots to remember the journey by.

Over 100 years ago, the railway pioneers built the Albula and Bernina lines through the impassable mountain terrain of the Swiss canton of Graubünden. Today, these two railway lines are still among the most spectacular experiences available on rails not least thanks to the many attractions: the Solis and Landwasser Viaducts, helical tunnels between Bergün and Preda, Ospizio Bernina, Alp Grüm and the Brusio Circular Viaduct.
