Cordele, GA - There are 3 lines that cross here: CSX Fitzgerald Sub (former Atlanta, Birmingham & Coast RR, ACL subsidiary) between Birmingham, Atlanta, and Waycross. Heart of Georgia Railroad (HOG), G&W-owned shortline, hosts SAM Shortline RR passenger excursions. SAM is short for Savannah, Americus & Montgomery RY, the original name of the line from 1888 (acquired by the SAL in 1900).NS Macon District (former Georgia, Southern & Florida RY) between Atlanta and Valdosta.

Georgia, Waycross - Waycross Diamond PTZ, Virtual Railfan Live
Waycross, GA - The diamond here at Waycross is the intersection of 3 CSX subdivisions. The Jesup Sub comes in from the Northeast (timetable North) and exits to the Southeast (timetable South). Jesup milepost 587 is just to the North of the diamond. The Fitzgerald Sub enters from the Northwest (timetable North) and the Thomasville Sub enters from the Southwest (timetable South). The Fitzgerald and Thomasville subs begin/end at the diamond. The CSX Rice Yard is just to the Southwest (right) of the camera. Rice Yard is a major CSX classification yard and locomotive facility. All 3 subs are former Atlantic Coast Line RR (ACL) lines.
