Railroad Webcams : Subscription Based

Subscription Based Railroad Webcams Links to fee based railroad webcams (railcams). The sites that host these cameras charge a fee for viewing. This is often referred to as being "Behind a paywall". These cameras tend to be high quality and typically are streaming video.

The sites feature webcam images of trains. Live railroad audio sites are also included. Webcam views include train stations, bridges, railway lines, light rail lines, monorails and subways. A webcam broadcasts images to the web. The webcam photos are updated at various intervals, varying from streaming video to once every few hours depending on the site. These webcam sites are suitable for viewers of all ages.

Massachusetts, Springfield - Springfield PTZ, Virtual Railfan Live
Springfield, MA - The camera is mounted on the Springfield Union station, the fifth busiest Amtrak station in Massachusetts. Tracks 4, 6 and 8 are Amtrak’s New Haven-Springfield Line. Tracks 1,2 and 2a belong to CSX, their Boston Line. West of the station platforms Amtrak curves to the south while CSX continues on to cross the Connecticut River on a twin truss bridge. Amtrak routes served: Hartford Line, Lake Shore Limited, Northeast Regional, Valley Flyer, and the Vermonter. CSX runs 15-20 freight trains daily.

Missouri, Kansas City - KC East Virtual Railfan Live
Kansas City, MO - located at Doc's Caboose in the West Bottoms section of the city. If you're in the area be sure to stop by and say hello to Doc at the hobby shop, it's a a great place to watch and shop for trains! This cam will see upwards of 40 trains per day with local switching 5 days per week. There is no Amtrak service on this line.

Missouri, Kansas City - PTZ 1 Santa Fe Junction Virtual Railfan Live Ed Pick
Kansas City, MO - These cams are located at Santa Fe Junction and are hosted by Holmes Drywall. This junction is one of the busiest junction in the United States and quite the hotspot for rail activity. You will see several different railroads plus Amtrak 3 & 4 (The Southwest Chief).

La Plata, MO - This cam is located at the historic Amtrak Station. This cam will see upwards of 60 trains per day. This line is the BNSF transcon between Chicago, IL and Los Angeles, CA. The Amtrak Southwest Chief stops here twice daily. Be sure to check out all the great stuff to see and do in La Plata and stop by and see Bob and Amy Cox over at Train Party or the APRHF.

Nebraska, Kearney - Kearney East Virtual Railfan Live
Kearney, NE - Kearney, Nebraska is located on the Union Pacific Railroad (UP) Kearney Subdivision between North Platte, NE, and Grand Island, NE, part of the UP's original Transcontinental Railroad, a.k.a., the Overland Route. As such, this is a very busy route, seeing about 80 freight trains daily with 3 main tracks. Main 1 is the northernmost track, i.e., the one farthest away from the cameras, then Main 2, then Main 3, and then closest are the sidings for The Andersons grain silo. Kearney is at milepost 188.8 on the Kearney Sub. To the west at North Platte, trains enter the massive Bailey Yard complex, where through trains are refueled and serviced, crews are swapped, and also many trains either terminate or begin.
