Leadhills and Wanlockhead Railway
Britains highest adhesion railway, reaching 1498 feet above sea level, it was originally built in 1900 for the Caledonian Railway Company for transporting refined lead to the central belt of Scotland. The Leadhills & Wanlockhead Railway Society was formed in 1983 to construct and operate a 2ft gauge tourist railway between two villages on the old standard gauge trackbed.

Llanberis Lake Railway
Llanberis, Wales - Welcome to Llanberis Lake Railway Discover the timeless appeal of our narrow-gauge steam trains - a more leisurely way to travel and the perfect way to savour the grandeur of Snowdonia.

Our little steam engines take you on a five-mile return journey alongside Lake Padarn, right in the heart of Snowdonia. The journey takes you past the 13th century Dolbadarn Castle, across possibly Britain's shortest river and past Llanberis' twin lakes. From Llanberis the train runs non-stop through the Padarn Country Park, joining the 1845 slate railway route to run along the shores of Lake Padarn to Penllyn, and giving stunning views of Snowdon, the highest peak in England and Wales.

LMS Carriage Association
The LMS Carriage Association (LMSCA) is a UK registered charity, number 1101275, whose charitable aims are to preserve and operate a representative collection of historical LMS passenger and non passenger coaching stock for use by and the education of the public.

In pursuance of these aims, the LMSCA and its members have acquired a number of vehicles, while restoration activities are based at the Rowsley South site on Peak Rail, and more recently at the Wirksworth site on the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway

Lynton & Barnstaple Railway

Merchant Navy Locomotive Preservation Society
Clan Line is an ex British Railways "Pacific" Class (4-6-2) steam locomotive owned and maintained to mainline standard by the Merchant Navy Locomotive Preservation Society. Midland Railway Centre
The Midland Railway, Butterley is the home for all the things related to the Midland Railway. There is a standard Gauge line which has steam and diesel hauled passenger trains. The main site at Swanwick has a museum devoted to the Midland Railway as well as a large collection of steam and diesel locomotives. It is a day out for the whole family with model and miniature railways and a country park as well as a host of other attractions.

National Railway Museum - York
York, England - We are home to a wide range of railway icons and literally millions of artifacts, from Mallard - the world's fastest steam locomotive - to a lock of Robert Stephenson's hair.

NRM Collection: Our collection, including 103 locomotives and 177 other items of rolling stock, tells the railway story from Rocket to Eurostar. Permanent displays include the jewel in our crown - "Palaces on Wheels". With Royal saloons dating back to the pre-Victorian era, visitors have the rare chance to glimpse inside the sumptuous bedrooms, dining rooms and day saloons which really are palaces on wheels.
