Live steam and operating diesel locomotives. Railroads were the revolution in transportation that was vital to the Industrial Revolution. Before paved roads, railroads were the preferred method of moving raw materials, finished goods and people. CAMA's operating 3 foot gauge railroad pays homage to this important mode of transportation which fueled America's ascendancy to lead the world in industry. Hawaii Railway Co. #5, a 1925 Baldwin steam locomotive, was used in the sugar cane fields of Hawaii to move cane to the processing mill. A variety of other locomotives and rolling stock fill out this exhibit area.
