Oregon - Santiam Excursion Trains
Lebanon, OR - Our excursion trains run over the 17+ miles of track on the Sweet Home Branch line. Our excursion train is unlike any other in the Valley, or even the west coast for that matter. While on board you will see amazing stretches of farmland, forest ranges and the beautiful Santiam River while also rolling past our shipper's sites and seeing the railroad world in action. The round trip lasts approximately two hours, so be sure to bring some cash so that you can enjoy some local beer, wine and cocktails.

The Sumpter Valley Railroad is open on select weekends and major holidays, Memorial Day Weekend through the last weekend in September.

Oregon - Train Mountain Railroad Museum
Chiloquin, OR - The museum has the world's largest collection of Cabooses (37). The museum concentrates on the Southern Pacific Railroad, the Great Northern Railroad and their successors. Also represented are the logging railroads of Klamath County and the former Oregon, California, & Eastern Railroad (OC&E).
The museum has an exhibit of snow fighting equipment used by the Southern Pacific in the Cascade mountains and by the OC&E.
A collection of smaller items are being organized into interpretive displays that will explain the skills and tools used to run a railroad yesterday and today.

Oregon - Willamette Shore Trolley
Lake Oswego, OR - Willamette Shore Trolley. Take a scenic trolley along the Willamette River
Ride in a Vintage Trolley from Lake Oswego into a dark tunnel and meander thru posh neighborhoods. Soon you will be on a high trestle overlooking the beautiful Willamette River and continue along the Willamette River into Powers Marine Park. From there you will return to Lake Oswego. A perfect outing for families and couples.
You will riding on a historic rail line dating from the late 1800s. The tunnel dates from 1912. At one time electrified interurbans ran on this line from Portland to Oswego and on to Hillsboro, McMinnville and Corvallis. The Vintage Trolley itself is a replica trolley in the style of Portland's own Council Crest cars. Two of the original cars can be found at our museum in Brooks. The Vintage Trolleys did run on the MAX Line and Portland Streetcar before coming to Willamette Shore Trolley.

Oregon - World Forestry Center
Portland, OR - Located on the World Forestry Center campus, Peggy is a beautiful 42-ton Lima Shay-geared locomotive who has hauled an estimated billion feet of logs in her lifetime.
Built in 1909 by Lima Locomotive Works in Lima, Ohio, she was shipped around Cape Horn to Seattle and a few years later purchased by the Stimson Lumber Company. Peggy spent her life working first in forests of Washington and then Oregon. She survived the Tillamook Burn and was retired from logging in 1950.
Peggy was donated to the City of Portland. In 1969-1971, members of the Pacific Northwest Chapter, National Railway Historical Society (PNWC) rebuilt the cab and wood sills in preparation for her move to the World Forestry Center.
In 2003 the Lilley Family Foundation generously donated funds to refurbish Peggy, build a shelter for her, and move her to her current prominent location. Once again Peggy found herself in front of television and newspaper photographers as she was gently lifted by a large crane and placed on her new tracks.
The locomotive is on static display adjacent to the parking lot for the Oregon Zoo, which has a nice park train.
