Maine - Brooks Preservation Society
Belfast, ME - The Brooks Preservation Society (BPS), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was formed in 2008 with the mission to protect, preserve, and celebrate historic structures and artifacts in Brooks as well as the surrounding communities for the benefit of the citizens and local economy.
Among our objectives are the preservation of the Belfast & Moosehead Lake Railroad corridor running through Waldo County, the preservation and restoration of the Brooks Railroad Station, and the preservation of several historical Belfast & Moosehead Lake Railroad locomotives, railcars, and MOW equipment. To that end we formed the Belfast & Moosehead Lake Railway and then acquired the name Belfast & Moosehead Lake Railroad. Finally we acquired the City Point Railroad Museum in Belfast Maine where we offer weekend excursions during our operational season.

Maine - Cole Land Transportation Museum
Bangor, ME - Cole Land Transportation Museum
Preserving the vehicles; those who made, used and maintained them; and challenging children to higher aspirations.
Our purpose at the Cole Land Transportation Museum is to collect, preserve, and display (before they disappear forever) a cross section of Maine's land transportation equipment from which this and future generations will gain knowledge of the past.
We also wish to remember, record and display U.S. military memorabilia to forever remind this and future generations of the high price our comrades have paid to protect our freedom. In doing so, we hope to inspire and challenge the young people of today to continue on in the footsteps of pioneers who have built our state and country.

Maine - Downeast Scenic Railroad
Ellsworth, ME - Join us on the Downeast Scenic Railroad, the first tourist-passenger rail to grace the historic Calais Branch Line in decades, on an excursion ride this season!
The Downeast Scenic Railroad offers two trips per day Saturdays and Sundays through the season. Our round-trip tour travels from Ellsworth, Maine, on the historic Calais Branch Line to Ellsworth Falls and then to Washington Junction and back to Ellsworth. The ten-mile trip takes approximately 90 minutes.
In July of 2012 we began operating through the newly rebuilt wye at our Washington Junction rail yard. The wye was built by the Maine Central in 1931 when they discontinued service to McNeil Point on the old Maine Shore Line tracks. Trains like the Bar Harbor Express then ended their run in Ellsworth. The Maine Central used the wye to turn engines and coaches around so they could be ready to leave Ellsworth westbound. Come ride the Downeast Scenic Railroad now and travel over this historic section of track. All of our Saturday and Sunday departures now use the wye at Washington Junction to reverse directions.

Maine - Wiscasset, Waterville & Farmington Railway Museum
Sheepscot, ME - Maine's Wiscasset, Waterville, and Farmington (WW&F) Railway was a two-foot narrow gauge common carrier railroad that operated from 1894 until 1933. The line ran from Wiscasset in the south, to Albion and Winslow in the north, never making it to either Waterville or Farmington. The Great Depression brought about the railroad's scrapping in 1937.
The WW&F Railway Museum was founded in 1989 to restore and rebuild the original railroad. Since then we've restored 2.5 miles of railroad, rebuilt several original railroad cars, and are restoring a steam locomotive. Today you can climb aboard our train for a ride back in time.
