Ann Arbor Railroad (AA)
East Region
The Ann Arbor began operations under Watco ownership in January of 2013. The 50-mile short line serves Customers in the middle of an automotive industry corridor. Finished automobiles are processed at AA's three vehicle distribution facilities in Toledo and serve Customers Chrysler, General Motors and Ford.
In addition to just-in-time automobile parts and finished automobiles, the AA also handles a full range of commodities such as bulk materials like flour, sugar, grain, plastics, sand, cement, recyclables, paper, lumber and petroleum.

Arizona and California Railroad (ARZC)
The Arizona & California Railroad (ARZC) is a RailAmerica short line property. The ARZC began operations between 1903 1907 by the Arizona & California Railway. By 1910 the line stretched its reach to Cadiz, CA.
Located at Cadiz, CA, the ARZC begins with an interchange with the BNSF and continues southeast across the Mojave Desert to Ripley, than east to cross the Colorado River Arizona/California state line at Parker, AZ. The railroad continues east to Matthie.
The ARZC is 190 miles of mainline from Cadiz, CA. Additionally there are 57 miles of trackage rights and a 50 mile branch line from Rice.

Arizona Eastern Railway Company (AZER)
The Arizona Eastern Railway (AZER) is composed of two rail lines operating over 200 track miles in southeast Arizona and southwest New Mexico that are connected by 52 miles of trackage rights over the Union Pacific Railroad.
Commodities transported include copper, chemicals and agricultural and forest products.
The AZER was acquired by Genesee & Wyoming in 2011 but has roots older than G&W itself. AZER was originally chartered in 1895 as the Gila Valley, Globe & Northern, with 133 route-miles between Bowie and Miami, Arizona. Today, AZER also includes a 70-mile line between Clifton, Arizona, and Lordsburg, New Mexico, that connects to the original Bowie line via trackage rights.

Arkansas & Missouri home page
The Arkansas & Missouri Railroad (A&M) was established in 1986 as a Class III Railroad operating a 150 mile route from Monett, Missouri to Fort Smith, Arkansas. The home office is located in Springdale, Arkansas; major operations are based there and Fort Smith. The company provides freight services to customers along its route and excursion passenger service between Springdale and Van Buren / Fort Smith. A&M interchanges traffic with three Class I railroads: Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF), Kansas City Southern (KCS), and the Union Pacific (UP), as well as the Fort Smith Railroad (FSR). All lines are rated at 286,000 lbs and cleared for double stack rail cars, and main lines feature continuous welded rail.

Arkansas Midland Railroad (AKMD)
Operations of Arkansas Midland Railroad, along with Prescott & Northwestern Railroad and the Warren & Saline River Railroad, are composed of 137 miles of owned and leased track and serve the Hot Springs and Little Rock areas, as well as the southwestern and southeastern portions of the state.The railroads currently haul approximately 35,000 carloads per year and serve a diverse customer base in industries including aluminum, forest products, aggregates, energy and carton board.

Arkansas Southern Railroad (ARS)
Nashville, AR Gulf Region
The Arkansas Southern Railroad (ARS) began operations on October 9, 2005. Watco Transportation Services, Inc. (WTS) acquired the railroad from the KCS through a lease agreement.
Nestled amongst the pines of western Arkansas, the ARS consists of 62 miles of track on two branches. The 32-mile northern branch runs east from Heavener, OK to Waldron, AR. The southern branch is a 30-mile line running northeast from Ashdown to Nashville, AR. The ARS interchanges with the KCS at Ashdown, AR and Heavener, OK and with the UP at Nashville

Austin Western Railroad (AWRR)
Austin, TX Gulf Region
The Austin Western Railroad (AWRR) operates 155 miles of track from Llano, TX to Giddings, TX with a 6.4 mile branch extending from Fairland to Marble Falls,TX.
The line dates back to 1871 when the Houston and Texas Central Railroad built the Giddings to Austin line. The AWRR interchanges with the UP at McNeil and Elgin. Nearly 49,000 carloads move annually, shipping commodities such as aggregates, crushed limestone, calcium bicarbonate, lumber, beer, chemicals, plastics and paper. In March of 2010 the City of Austin began commuter operations, sharing the rail with the freight.
