Bellefonte, PA - The Bellefonte Historical Railroad Society is an all-volunteer historical society dedicated to promoting, preserving, and fostering a public appreciation of the railroading heritage of Bellefonte and Centre County, Pennsylvania. We own several historic pieces of rolling stock including two BUDD Rail Diesel Cars (RDCs), a wooden caboose and a snow plow on static display, and four speeder cars.

Currently we host two annual excursion weekends, in October and December. These excursions are operated with the support of the SEDA-COG Joint Rail Authority and the Nittany and Bald Eagle RR using restored 1920s and 1940s era passenger equipment from Jeff Pontius' Penn Valley RR.

Pennsylvania - Bucksgahuda and Western Railroad
St. Mary's, PA - "The B&W" is the Bucksgahuda and Western Railroad (pronounced Bucks-gah-hue-dah), a two foot gage railroad museum located in St. Marys, Pennsylvania. We preserve and operate industrial railroad equipment as was once commonly used in coal mines, brickyards, etc. The railroad is a member of the Two Foot Gage Owners Association, is affiliated with the Bucktail Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society, and is a non-profit corporation.

We preserve and demonstrate the story of industrial railroads. At one time, before forklifts and conveyors were invented, trains of this size were the backbone of many industries, including sawmills, coal mines, brickworks, and construction sites. Read on to find out the history of our railroad, the background of our cars and locomotives, and even why Bucksgahuda is the place where "The Geese Wear Pants."

Pennsylvania - Colebrookdale Railroad
Colebrookdale, PA - Lost in the deep woods sheltering the Manatawny and Ironstone Creeks is a mythical secret valley. Though today only white-tailed deer, great blue heron, and bald eagles know the beauty of this legendary land, it was once the province of pioneers and patriots.

Their stories can be heard in the soft winds whispering through the tall trees and towering trestles of the Colebrookdale Railroad - a magical, forgotten railway to the heart of this Secret Valley. The "Secret Valley Line" is your ticket to a place and time when iron rails connected a divided people and the heart of the nation pulsed with the potent energy of the steam locomotive.

Completed by soldiers home from the Civil War just four months after the Transcontinental Railroad united the East and West, the Colebrookdale is a record of epic engineering and heroic human drama. Eight-point-six miles long and a century-and-a-half back in time, the Secret Valley Line beckons you to experience for yourself the unexpected treasures of Southeastern Pennsylvania.
